Explanation of
Registration
Patient registration enables the software to map the patient’s preoperative image data to the
physical anatomy of the patient’s head. Usually registration is performed in an unsterile en-
vironment.
Make sure that the patient’s anatomy is the same as in the diagnostic imaging!
The software uses scan images of the patient which are acquired before surgery.
The patient’s actual anatomy could differ from the preoperative scan data, due
to e.g., brain shift or resections.
