Why is my Brother All in One Printer printing garbage?

  If your Brother All in One Printer is printing unexpectedly or printing garbage, try the following: Pull out the paper tray and wait until the machine stops printing, then switch off the machine and disconnect from the power for several minutes. Also, check the settings in your application to make sure it is set up to work with your machine. If you are using the parallel port connection, check that the port is set to BRMFC and not LPT1.

What to do if my Brother All in One Printer has poor print quality?

  If your Brother All in One Printer shows poor print quality, the primary corona wire may be dirty, so clean the primary corona wire. Also, check that the machine is plugged in and the power switch is turned on. Check that the toner cartridge and drum unit are installed properly. Check the interface cable connection on both the machine and your computer. Check that the correct printer driver has been installed and chosen. Check to see if the LCD is showing an error message. The machine is online. On your PC, click Start, then Settings, and then Printers and Faxes. Right-click ‘Brother DCP-XXXX (where XXXX is your model name)’. Make sure that ‘Use Printer Offline’ is unchecked.
