Install 6-place Harness Adaptor (HD-42962) and breakout box using black connectors between
connectors [88A] and [88B]. Place red meter lead in Pin 2 and black meter lead in Pin 1.
Start engine. Is batter voltage present?
NOTE
Male connectors are labeled “A”
Female connectors are labeled “B”

Replace Auto-Enrichener.
With key ON, move black
meter lead to ground.
Is battery voltage present?

Disconnect connector [88] to carburetor. Check continuity
from Pin 1 on connector [88] to Pin 3 on connector [10B].
Is continuity present?
Is battery voltage present at both
terminals of system fuse?
YES
NO
Locate and repair Open on
Orange wire between system
fuse and connector [88].

Neither Terminal
Locate and repair Open
between system relay and
system fuse.
Check for continuity to ground
at Pin 2 on connector [88].
Continuity present?

Replace fuse.
Locate and repair Short to
ground on Orange wire.
Replace fuse.

Reconnect connector [10].
Is battery voltage present on
Pin 1 (V/O) at connector [88].
Locate and repair Open
on Violet/Orange wire.

Short to voltage.
