Press and hold down the windows key, then press the power key. A list that
includes the Task Manager is shown. Select Task Manager to see which
apps are running. Press More details at the boom to view Processes,
Performance, and other items. This can be useful for troubleshoong.
RT4 is Locked Up
If the RT4 is completely stuck and won’t respond or you cannot get to
the Start menu, hold the power key down for ve seconds to see if that
solves it. If that doesn’t work, hold it down for 10 seconds. This causes a
hardware shut o. Press the power buon again to power it on.
If 10 seconds doesn’t work, hold the power buon down for 20 seconds.
Baeries are forced to electrically disconnect from the tablet, causing a
complete shut down. The tablet cannot be powered on again unl it is
plugged in with the AC wall charger. Keep this in mind if you are in the
eld.
CAUTION: Holding the power buon down for 20 seconds for a forced
disconnect is recommended only as a last resort. Forcing the power o
causes all unsaved data to be lost and corrupts acve data transfers to
storage.
