The above shows what the zoom indicator looks like
when digital zoom is turned on (page 62). The digital
zoom range is not displayed when digital zoom is
turned off.
The image deterioration point depends on the image
size (page 71). The smaller the image size, the
higher the zoom factor you can use before reaching
the image deterioration point. Though digital zoom
generally causes a deterioration of image quality,
some digital zoom without image deterioration is
possible with image sizes of “5M (2560
×
1920
pixels)” and smaller. The range in which you can use
digital zoom without image deterioration is indicated
on the display. The deterioration point depends on
the image size.
When shooting with “Auto Framing” (page 104),
image quality will be deteriorated even if you are
using digital zoom within the “Undeteriorated Image
Quality Range.
