ENGINE FIRE IN-FLIGHT
1. Fuel Cutoff Control CUTOFF (OUT)
2. Propeller Control FEATHER (OUT)
3. Fuel Selector OFF
4. Battery and Generator OFF (except IFR)
5. Cabin Heat and Air OFF (except overhead vent)
6. Airspeed 105 KIAS (If fire is not extinguished, increase glide
speed to find an airspeed which will provide an incombustible
mixture.)
7. Forced Landing EXECUTE (as described in Emergency
Landing Without Engine Power).
ELECTRICAL FIRE IN-FLIGHT
1. Battery and Generator OFF
2. All Other Switches OFF
3. Vents/Cabin Air/Heat CLOSED
4. Fire Extinguisher ACTIVATE (if available)
WARNING
AFTER THE FIRE IS EXTINGUISHED, IF
AN OXYGEN SYSTEM IS AVAILABLE
AND BREATHING IS DIFFICULT,
OCCUPANTS SHOULD USE OXYGEN
MASK UNTIL SMOKE AND DISCHARGED
POWDER CLEARS. AFTER
DISCHARGING EXTINGUISHER WITHIN
A CLOSED CABIN, VENTILATE THE
CABIN.
If fire appears out and electrical power is necessary for continuance
of the flight:
1. Battery and Generator ON
2. Monitor electrical load
3. Circuit Breakers CHECK for faulty circuit, do not reset.
4. Radio/Electrical Switches ON one at a time, with delay after
each until short circuit is localized.
5. Vents/Cabin Air/Heat OPEN when it is ascertained that fire is
completely extinguished.
CABIN FIRE
1. Battery Switch- OFF
2. Generator Switch OFF
3. Vents/Cabin Air/Heat CLOSED (to avoid drafts)
