6- WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS
6.1.- USAGE ENVIRONMENT AND HEALTH
Wireless communications emit radio frequency electromagnetic energy, like other radio devic-
es.
Because wireless communications operate within the guidelines found in radio frequency safe-
ty standards and recommendations, they are safe for users to use.
In certain environments or situations, the use of wireless communications may be restricted by
the owner of the building or the representatives responsible for the organisation.
These situations include:
The use of wireless connections on board aircraft, in hospitals or near to service stations,
blasting areas, medical implants or electronic medical devices implanted in the body (pace-
makers etc.).
In any other environment where the risk of interference with other devices or services is
identiedashazardous.
If you are unsure about the policy implemented regarding the use of wireless devices in a spe-
cicorganisation(airport,hospital,etc.),itisadvisabletoaskforauthorisationtousewireless
communications.
6.2.- Wi-Fi COMMUNICATIONS
Wi-Fi is one of the most widely used wireless technologies today, for connecting and exchang-
ing information between electronic devices without having to connect them physically.
The Wibeee has Wi-Fi communications in the 2.4 GHz band, compliant with standard IEEE
802.11
6.3.- MODBUS TCP PROTOCOL
The MODBUS protocol is an industry communication standard that enables the network
connection of multiple devices, where there is a master and multiple slaves.
The MODBUS functions implemented in the device are:
Function 0x03. Reading of multiple registers. This function is used to request the
desired measurement parameters from the Wibeee Modbus server.
Function 0x05.Writingofaspecicregister.Thisfunctionisusedtodeletethe
Wibeee's energy meters.

ception code.
