Chapter 1 General Troubleshooting
1.9 PC Connectivity Troubleshooting
Caution Before continuing with the next step, verify that the database to upload is correct. You cannot reverse
the upload process after you click Yes.
Step 6 Review the information on the Confirm NE Re-Initialization dialog box, then click Ye s to start the
reinitialization.
The reinitialization begins. After the software is downloaded and activated and the database is uploaded
to the TCC2/TCC2P cards, “Complete” appears in the status bar and the TCC2/TCC2P cards will reboot.
Wait a few minutes for the reboot to complete.
Step 7 After the reboot is complete, log into the node.
Step 8 Manually set the node name and network configuration to site-specific values. Refer to the
Cisco ONS 15454 SDH Procedure Guide Chapter 10, “Change Node Settings,” for information on
setting the node name, IP address, mask and gateway, and IIOP port.
1.9 PC Connectivity Troubleshooting
This section contains information about system minimum requirements, supported platforms, browsers,
and Java runtime environments (JREs) for Release 5.0, and troubleshooting procedures for PC and
network connectivity to the ONS 15454 SDH.
1.9.1 PC System Minimum Requirements
Workstations running CTC release 5.0 for the ONS products on Windows platforms need to have the
following minimum requirements:
• Pentium III or higher processor
• Processor speed of at least 700 MHz
• 256 Mb or more of RAM
• 50 Mb or more of available hard disk space
• 20 GB or larger hard drive
1.9.2 Sun System Minimum Requirements
Workstations running CTC release 5.0 for the ONS products on Sun workstations need to have the
following minimum requirements:
• UltraSPARC or faster processor
• 256 Mb or more of RAM
• 50 Mb or more of available hard disk space
