Secure Rear-Facing LATCH Connectors to
the vehicle LATCH lower anchors. For each
LATCH Connector:
• Position red release button of Rear-
Facing LATCH Connector facing away
from car seat.
• Align LATCH Connector with the vehicle
LATCH lower anchor and press the
LATCH Connector against the LATCH
lower anchor until you hear the LATCH
Connector click, as shown in Figure 49.
• Pull on LATCH Connector to check that it
is securely locked on the vehicle LATCH
lower anchor.
Step 10
Position the seat so that the Rear-Facing Level
Reference Line appropriate for the child’s
weight is parallel with the ground as shown
in Figure 50.
• If using with an infant under 22 lb (10
kg), position the seat with the more
reclined Reference Line (top line) parallel
to the ground.
• If using with an older child who is over
22 lb (10 kg), position the seat with the
more upright Reference Line (bottom
line) parallel to the ground.
