6. With a crane lift the ADU off the wooden platform and move it on top of the ADU
mast.
7. Install the ADU on the mast flange with 4 M12 bolts and washers. Tightening torque
value: 30 Nm. Read carefully and follow instructions given in To ground the ADU on
page E-2.
8. Remove the 4 lifting brackets. Keep the lifting brackets on the vessel for future use.
9. Attach the N-connector of the ADU cable to the ADU and fasten it with 2.5 Nm.
10. Ensure that the connector is properly protected against seawater and corrosion. As
a minimum, wrap it with self-amalgamating rubber.
11. Where the cables are exposed to mechanical wear — on deck, through bulkheads,
etc. – protect the cables with steel pipes. Otherwise, follow standard procedures for
cabling in ship installations.
Maximum allowed RF loss in the ADU cable
Maximum allowed cable loss is 20 dB at 1950 MHz. This is to ensure optimum
performance of the system.
Maximum allowed DC loop resistance, screen plus center lead 0.9 Ohm.
