Unpacking the equipment
Ensure that the packing boxes are upright as indicated by the
printing on the boxes. Open each box and check for signs of
damage to the equipment. If you notice any damage, contact
Codan immediately to obtain an RMA. Failure to contact
Codan before returning the unit may result in any warranty
being void.
Installing the BUC equipment
WARNING
All equipment that is mounted outdoors must be
adequately weatherproofed.
Ensure all waveguide joints are properly sealed
with the appropriate gasket.
Use self-amalgamating tape to seal connectors
and cable entry points from the connector to the
cable sheath.
CAUTION
Water is the most common cause of poor
performance in VSAT installations. Ensure that
all cables and waveguide junctions are properly
sealed.
WARNING
A radiation hazard exists if the BUC is operated
with its RF output unterminated (see page 123,
Radiation safety).
