3.5 Paramagnetic Oxygen Sensor
The Paramagnetic Oxygen Sensor is used to measure the concentration of oxygen present in the gas sample as
a percentage. Sensing is performed by a glass dumbbell assembly suspended in a magnetic field which twists
when exposed to oxygen. An electric current is used to counteract the twist in which its magnitude is
proportional to the concentration of oxygen in the gas sample. The sensor is maintenance free with no
consumable element and can be calibrated within any range inclusive of 0-100%. It produces accurate results
at a rate of two minutes per cage.
