Operation Monitoring
50
C3M2-OM-EN-02
Note
If the exhaust filter icon is still being displayed after successfully
completing the standstill DPF regeneration process, contact your local
Combilift partner.
Change the engine oil when the interval between DPF regenerations
becomes 5 hours or less, if this condition persists even after an oil change,
it can be an indication of an engine fault that is causing excessive carbon
emissions. Contact your local Combilift partner in this instance.
Important: If standstill DPF regeneration is not performed
successfully within approximately 1 hour, it will lead to a
condition where it is only possible to activate standstill DPF
regeneration by connecting a service tool. Stop using the truck
and contact your local Combilift partner in this instance.
When the DPF regeneration icon is combined with the stop icon (31),
there is a separate engine fault or the particulate matter in the DPF
can no longer be reduced sufficiently by the standstill regeneration
process. Engine performance is reduced to protect the DPF.
If this combination is present the DPF must be replaced or
removed for specialist cleaning. Stop using the truck and contact
your local Combilift partner in this instance.
27. Exhaust Emissions System Fault/Malfunction Icon *
* Diesel engine powered trucks only.
The exhaust emissions system fault/malfunction icon is displayed
when engine emissions are outside of the normal operating range
or there is a fault in the engine emissions system.
Faults in the engine emissions system should be checked and
repaired immediately. Engine performance may be reduced (limp
mode) to protect the exhaust emissions system.
The engine emissions system fault/malfunction icon will be
displayed in combination with the warning icon (30) if a fault has not
been repaired within 3 hours 15 minutes. After this time maximum
torque is reduced by 50% and maximum speed is reduced by 40%.
Caution
Temperatures on the exhaust pipe can reach 600°C/1112°F during DPF
regeneration. Danger of burns!
A special engine operating state becomes active during standstill DPF
regeneration, the truck must not be used until the process is complete.
Only activate standstill DPF regeneration when the truck is parked in a well-
ventilated open area that is free of combustible materials.
Disable automatic DPF regeneration when the truck is operating in a
location that is not safe for elevated exhaust temperatures.
