Mount the Fiber UAP2
The UAP2 ber supports the following mounng opons:
■ Ceiling, see Mounng a UAP2 on a Ceiling
■ Wall, see Mounng a UAP2 on a Wall
General Mounting Cautions
The following cauons apply to all Fiber UAP2 installaons; there may be other mounng cauons
applicable to a specic mounng opon, which will be dened in the applicable mounng procedure.
Note:
Aach all UAP2 securely to a staonary object as described in this installaon guide.
Note: To maintain proper venlaon, keep at least 76 mm (3-inch) clearance around the UAP2 .
Note: The installaon site must be able to bear the weight of the UAP2 ; see Table 6: UAP2
Dimensions & Weight (page 19).
Note: The minimum distance between two UAP2s with dierent frequency bands is 35 cm
(13.8 inches)
Mounting a UAP2 with an AC/DC Power Supply Kit
An AC/DC Power Supply Kit provides a 48V External Power Supply that converts local AC power to DC power
for the UAP2 . An AC/DC Power Supply Kit can be used when an AC power source is located near the UAP2 .
Do the following to mount a UAP2 using an AC/DC Power Supply Kit.
1. Refer to and observe all cauons listed in General Mounng Cauons.
2. Refer to UAP2 Dimensions to determine the mounng locaon, which must be able to support the
weight and dimensions of the UAP2 .
3. Follow the steps in Unpack and Inspect the UAP2 and Accessories.
Attach the Power Supply to the UAP2
1. Aach the Power Supply L bracket to the U bracket with the four screws provided in the Power Supply
Kit.
2. Slide the Power Supply onto the L bracket and secure with the four screws provided in the Power Supply
Kit.
3. Connect the Local Power Jumper Cable to the UAP2 -42 to -57 Vdc Power connector.
4. Plug AC power cord into an AC power source.
