For further details see section02“GENERALPRECAUTIONS”.
3.7.1.
GENERALWARNINGS
s The machine must be used by personnel with the right aptitude for the task and in good mental and physical condition. The
machine must not be used by people with disabilities, minors or children.
s The machine must only be towed and activated by tractors that are suitable for the type of load, equipped with compatible
attachments and protection devices on the drive shaft and PTO.
s Never load the product to be spread when wet, as this may block the machine and trigger fires or explosions due to chemical
reactions.
s When working, always use tight garments with the buttons and zips closed, safety shoes, masks and protective gloves. Never use
the machine in windy conditions, when dust can be carried by the wind and harm the public and the environment.
s Never carry people, animals or things when working or moving the machine.
s Always remember that a careful operator is the best guarantee of safety against accidents, and that tiredness, carelessness and
sloppiness may be fatal and cause serious or very serious injuries (or even death).
s Maintenance and repair work must be performed by suitably trained and authorised maintenance personnel. Any protection and
safety devices on the machine that are removed must be completely and carefully repositioned before using the machine.
s Predictive and preventive maintenance must be followed to the letter. Damaged or worn parts and components must only be
replaced with original spare parts. Special maintenance operations must be performed by specialist maintenance technicians;
contact the manufacturer or your local dealer.
s After maintenance and repairs, before using the machine again, the maintenance supervisor must make sure that the work has
been concluded and that all tools (spanners, screwdrivers …) have been removed.
s The machine must be parked and stabilised on level ground with a suitable capacity for the load distribution, or on special
stabilisers.
s Hitching the tractor to the machine is a very dangerous procedure and must be performed with maximum care, to avoid collisions,
crushing and trapping that may cause serious or very serious injuries (or even death).
3.7.2.
CHECKSBEFOREUSE
s Before moving the machine, make sure that all the safety devices and protective guards are correctly installed.
s Always make sure there are no people (above all children) or animals within the machine’s range of operation: this is important
above all when working on roads and in areas accessible to the public.
s When driving on the road, the machine must be hitched to the tractor as described in this manual. Incorrect hitching may affect
the vehicle’s stability when braking. Moreover, all local road rules in the country in question must be obeyed.
s Before using the machine, the operator must check its conditions in terms of maintenance and reliability. The machine must be
complete, with all safety devices and protective guards installed.
s Periodically check the condition of the protective guards on the drive shaft, checking this more frequently during winter. The drive
shaft protective guards must be in perfect condition, otherwise they must be replaced.
s To prevent the formation of lumps of fertilizer and the hopper blocking, never spread on days when humidity is high or in the rain
(where necessary, use the hopper tarp). In the event of blockages, stop the machine to avoid damaging the spreader mechanisms.
Remove any blockages only after having switched off the tractor. When cleaning, use personal protective equipment (gloves,
glasses, overalls...).
