5.3. VERIFYINGSUITABILITYOFTHETRACTOR


s Verifythatthe tractorissuitablebeforeattachingorhookingthemachinetothetractor. 
s Test the brakes to makesure that the tractor decelerates as required even when the machine is connected. 
s Specific requirements for tractor suitability: 
‐ admissibleoverallweight 
‐ admissibleaxleloads 
‐ capacityofthetyresfitted. 
Thesedatacanbefoundonthetractor’sratingplate,inthelogbookandinthe”usermanual”. 
s Thetractor’sfrontaxlemustalwayssupportatleast20%ofthetractor’semptyweight. 
s The tractor must achieve the deceleration require d by the manufacture r even when the machine is connected. 



