3.7.1. IR Adapter /a
Infra-red control outputs are used for controlling AV devices with IR control. The IR Adapter /a, which
is directly fastened using the two-sided adhesive tape onto the receiving diode window of an AV
device, is used. The description how the Assistant and Assistant-S add infrared codes can be found in
the manual for the Director software.

The maximal IR adapter /a cable length is 70 m if the cable capacity is 100 pF/m. The total cable
capacity can be max. 7 nF, the lowest load resistance can be 50 Ω. For IR Adapter /a use a 2-core
screened cable or twist.
