4 After turning OFF the pump, check the pressure for at least
1hour.

▪ Checkforleaksagain.
▪ Performvacuumdryingagain.
NOTICE
Make sure to open the stop valves after installing the
refrigerantpipingand performing vacuumdrying.Running
the system with the stop valves closed may break the
compressor.
6.6 Chargingrefrigerant
6.6.1 Aboutchargingrefrigerant
The outdoor unit is factory charged with refrigerant, but in some
casesthefollowingmightbenecessary:

(seelater).
Completelyrechargingrefrigerant Example:
▪ Whenrelocatingthesystem.
▪ Afteraleak.
Chargingadditionalrefrigerant
Beforechargingadditional refrigerant, makesurethe outdoor unit's
externalrefrigerantpipingischecked(leaktest,vacuumdrying).
INFORMATION
Dependingontheunitsand/ortheinstallationconditions,it
mightbenecessarytoconnectelectricalwiringbeforeyou
canchargerefrigerant.
Typical workflow – Charging additional refrigerant typically consists
ofthefollowingstages:
1 Determiningifandhowmuchyouhavetochargeadditionally.
2 Ifnecessary,chargingadditionalrefrigerant.
3 Fillinginthefluorinatedgreenhousegaseslabel,andfixingitto
theinsideoftheoutdoorunit.
Completelyrechargingrefrigerant
Beforecompletelyrechargingrefrigerant,makesurethefollowingis
done:
1 Thesystemispumpeddown.
2 Theoutdoorunit'sexternalrefrigerantpipingischecked(leak
test,vacuumdrying).
3 Vacuumdryingontheoutdoorunit'sinternalrefrigerantpipingis
performed.
NOTICE
Before completely recharging, perform vacuum drying on
theoutdoorunit'sinternalrefrigerantpipingaswell.Todo
so, use the internal service port of the outdoor unit
(between the heat exchanger and the 4way valve). Do
NOT use the service ports of the stop valves, because
vacuum drying cannot be performed properly from these
ports.
WARNING
Some sections of the refrigerant circuit may be isolated
from other sections caused by components with specific
functions (e.g. valves). The refrigerant circuit therefore
features additional service ports for vacuuming, pressure
relieforpressurizingthecircuit.
