FC 300 Operating Instructions
How to Programme
1-25 Motor Nominal Speed
Range:
100 - 60000 RPM
*
RPM
Function:
Enter the nominal m otor speed value from the
motor nameplate data. The data are used for
calculating motor compensations. This parameter
cannot be adjusted while the motor is running.

1-29 Automatic Motor Adaptation (AMA)
Option:
*
OFF [0]
Enable com plete AMA [1]
Enable reduced AMA [2]
Function:
The AMA function optimis es dynam ic motor
performance by automatically optimising the
advanced motor parameters (par. 1-30 to par.
1-35) while the m otor is stationary.
SelectthetypeofAMA.Enable complete A MA [1]
performs AMA of the stator resistance R
S
,the
rotor re sistance R
r
, the stator leakage reactance
x
1
, the rotor leakage reactance X
2
and the main
reactance X
h
. Select this option if an LC filter is
used between the drive and the motor.
FC 301: The Complete AMA does not include
X
h
measurement for FC 301. Instead, the X
h
value is determined from the motor database.
Par. 1-35 Main R eactance (X
h
) may be adjusted
to obtain optim al start performance.
Select Reduced AMA [2] performs a reduced AMA
of the stator resistance R
s
in the system only.
Activate the AMA function b y pressing [Hand on]
after selecting [1] or [2]. See also the section
Automatic M otor Adaptation.Afteranormal
sequence, the display will read: "Press [OK] to
finish AMA". After pressing the [OK] key the
frequency converter is ready for operation.
Note:
• For the best adaptation of the frequenc y
converter, run A MA on a cold motor.
• AMA cannot be performed while the
motor is running.
• AMA cannot be performed on permanent
magnet motors.
NB!:
It is important to set motor par. 1-2*
Motor D ata correctly, since these form
part of the AMA a lgorithm . An AMA
must be performed to achieve optimum dynamic
motor performance. It m ay take up to 10 min,
depending on the power rating of the motor
.
NB!:
Avoidgeneratingexternaltorque
during AMA.
NB!:
If one of the settings in par. 1-2* Motor
Data is changed, par. 1-30 to 1-39,
the advanced motor parameters, will
return to default setting. This parameter cannot
be adjusted while the motor is running.
