3. Starting detecting the point of failure
Check item(1).
Check that the version of the AVR can be read
correctly.
Is the GUI version readable correctly?
When the HDMI input terminal (HDMI8) is con-
nected to the player, the video from the player
will be played back on the TV?
Use any of Dolby TrueHD/DTSHD MA/PCM 8ch
for the playback audio format.
There are no problems with the HDMI device.
Check item(2).
Are all versions readable correctly without dis-
playing IP SCALER ERR 01 or IP SCALER ERR 02?
Is the GUI version readable correctly?

GUI IC (ADV8003) failure detection procedure
Is the "DIG" indicator illuminated on the FLD?
When the "DIG" indicator is illuminated, the DIGI-
TAL AUDIO block is faulty.
If the "DIG" indicator is not illuminated, go to
check item (59).

Check soldering of IP SCALER (IC401), DDR2
(IC402/IC403) and its peripheral circuits.
Check soldering of the resistors (R4076 to R4082,
RN401 to RN415) between IP SCALER and DDR2.
If there is no problem with soldering, IC401/
IC402/IC403 is defective. Replace their IC. Or
replace the substrate.

Check item(3). : Does a video signal come from HDMI ZONE2
OUT to TV correctly?
When the HDMI input terminal (HDMI 5, 6, 7) are connected
in order to the player, are the audio and video from the player
played back on the TV correctly in each case?

When the HDMI input terminal (HDMI 1, 2, 3, 4) are connected

TV correctly?
Turn Video Conversion "OFF" on the setup menu.

terminals (HDMI 1, 5), in each case is the player video played
back on the TV connected to the HDMI output terminal (HDMI
OUT 1,2)?

Check item(6). Does a video signal come from HDMI OUT1 to
TV correctly?
Turn Video Conversion "ON" on the setup menu.
