Re-Amping Using the GNX4s Recorder
Re-amping is a feature that allows you to record a dry, unprocessed guitar track and then play it back through
the GNX4s effects afterward. This allows you to record a part just once and then experiment with different
amp/cabinet/effect combinations until the sound fits well in the mix. One great thing about using the GNX4s
re-amp capability is that you can record this unprocessed track while still monitoring your performance
through the GNX4s processing. This lets you get the feel of hearing the guitar through the amp and effects
while tracking, while only recording the dry guitar. To re-amp a guitar track, follow these steps:
1.Begin with the recorder stopped.
2.Press the SHIFT button on the Recorder Panel.
3. Press the CF/USB 1-2 SRC button on the Recorder Panel.
4. Use the DATA WHEEL to select
DRYGUITR as the source.
5. Press the EXIT button.
6.Use the DATA WHEEL to select a preset that gives you a good feel for the performance you are about
to record.
7. Press the RECORD button. A new track will arm itself and you can begin recording your performance.
8.When finished, press the STOP button.
9. Press the SHIFT button on the Recorder Panel (if it is not already lit).
10.Press the CF/USB 1-2 SRC button on the Recorder Panel.
11.Use the DATA WHEEL to select
REAMP X (X = the track number you just recorded to).
12.Press the PLAY button.
You will now hear your performance played back through the currently selected preset. Use the DATA
WHEEL to hear this performance played through different presets. Another re-amping method is to record
a guitar using the amp modeling only, without Chorus/Mod,Delay, or Reverb effects by selecting
MONOALL as
the recording source. You can then select a direct amp and cabinet model upon playback and re-amp through
the GNX4s effects only.
