14 Troubleshooting
Problem Cause Remedy
The device will not switch on. The vehicle is not switched
on.
Switch the ignition to
ACC/ON or START.
The cables have not been
connected correctly.
Check whether the cables
are correctly connected.
The fuse is faulty. Replace the fuse with a new
one of the same type (5 A).
No sound. The volume is set to
minimum.
Check the volume.
The sound is muted. Switch the sound on again.
The reverse gear is engaged
when the reverse mute
function is activated.
If required, disable the
reverse mute function.
The device or display are not
functioning correctly.
The system is unstable (e.g.
the on-screen display is
frozen).
Reset the system by pressing
the RESET button.
The device will not play any
disks.
The disc has not been
correctly inserted.
The disc must be inserted
with the label facing
upwards.
The disc is dirty or damaged. Clean the disc and check for
damage.
When the disc is playing, the
sound is interrupted by
vehicle vibrations.
The device has been fitted at
an angle of more than 30° to
the horizontal.
Fit the device at an angle of
under 30° to the horizontal.
Fit the unit so it is firm and
secure.
The radio receives no radio
stations.
The aerial is not properly
connected.
Connect the aerial correctly.
The radio reception is only
very weak.
The aerial is not fully
extended.
Extend the aerial fully.
The aerial is damaged. Check the aerial for damage
and replace if necessary.
The preset radio stations are
no longer stored when
restarting the radio.
The battery cable is not
properly connected.
Connect the battery cable
correctly.
