(UTP2) which allows Radio Frequency
Interference (RFI) from partial discharge (PD) sources to be detected in the Ultra High Frequency (UHF) region.
Partial discharge detection using UHF is particularly relevant in outdoor switchyards, when used with a suitable
antenna, such as the UHF Directional Antenna (UHFDA1). RFI due to PD is broadband in nature and can be
detected across a range of frequencies. Lower frequencies tend to radiate further from a source than higher
frequency so it follows that detection at higher frequencies will allow a more precise location of a source.
The UHFR1 can be used with either the supplied omnidirectional whip antenna or the UHF Directional Antenna.
