Network Connection Mode
Two commonly connection mode is supported namely Access Point (AP) and Repeater.
Below are some possibilities of connection diagram but not limited.
Access Point (AP) mode
First mode that FW supports is access point (AP) mode.
The FW will only be an access point (AP) if your FW is totally standalone and NOT connecting to any
wireless network. If your intend to connect any one of the FW to a 3
rd
part wireless network or router, it
will be a repeater.
FW can be an Ethernet LAN access point or Wi-Fi access point or both at the same time.
The below Diagram 01 shows that FW-01 is an ethernet access point (AP) to 2 other FW, FW-02 and FW-
03.
FW-01 is DHCP server.
FW-02 is connected to FW-01 and runs static IP.
FW-03 runs DHCP client and obtain its IP address from FW-01.
**Recommendation : For static IP address assignment please assign other than 100~199 range as this is
reserved for DHCP server**
