5. Replace the top portion of the sampler inlet and secure with the hooks and
catches. The manufacturer’s label should face towards the front of the sampler
to ensure consistent orientation of the top section.
6. An insect screen should be fitted after the impaction stage, as shown in Figure
2, to prevent insects finding their way into the filter as shown in Figure 2.
Note: The tension on the catches should be evenly
distributed between the four catches. If necessary,
adjust the inlet hook-catches by loosening the lock-nut
on the hook-catch rod, then winding the catch in or
out. Hold the catch straight and tighten the lock-nut.
2.2.3 Assembling the Muffler
1. First install the threaded circular plastic tubing onto the side of the HiVol
by screwing it on clockwise as shown below in Figure 7.
2. Now attach the muffler by placing it over the threaded circular plastic
tubing.
