Air bag suspension - System used to pro-
vide stability of the rear axle. Can be
adjusted for maximum sweeping and
dumping performance.
Broom pattern - Marks made on the
pavement by the brooms when rotating the
brooms with the sweeper staying in one
place. The broom pattern is used to deter-
mine that the brooms are making proper
contact with the street.
Conveyor - Device that carries debris
swept up by the main broom to the hopper.
The Eagle patented No-Jam
®
conveyor has
molded-in, full width cleats to move large
debris without jamming.
Dirt deflector - Rubber piece mounted
under the chassis to keep debris within the
sweeping path. The Eagle is equipped with
a centerboard dirt deflector, running
between the side broom and main broom.
Dirt shoes - Devices located on the out-
sides of the main broom, used to keep
debris between the main broom and con-
veyor.
Down pressure - The amount of down-
ward pressure of a broom. The greater the
down pressure, the greater the digging
power, but the more quickly the brooms
will wear.
