7. Fault finding and repair
During production all units undergo a number of quality control
stages. In order to assist you in fault finding we have listed a
number of possible faults, causes and cures.
Process display system fault messages
Faults that could occur during the self test are displayed in the
7 segment display as a 4 digit error code.
The error code only appears after the self test, after switching
the unit on. The message remains in the display until one of the
push buttons has been operated.

Cause Cure
0001 Invalid recognition in
EEPROM. Possible cause is a
power failure during a
parameter save procedure.
The recognition in the
EEPROM is repaired by
acknowledging using the “E”
push button.
0002 Checksum of operating
parameters is invalid or the
software version in the
EPROM does not correspond
with the EEPROM. Possible
cause is a power failure during
a parameter save procedure.
A PRESET is automatically
initiated by operating the “E”
push button. This means all
parameters are returned to
default. The fault is no longer
displayed once the unit has
been switched ON/Off.
0003 Checksum for the calibration
values EEPROM is faulty.
Possible cause is a power
failure during calibration, an
uncalibrated unit or a defective
calibration EEPROM
Please return the unit for
repair.
0004 The calibration values of at
least one input range are not
plausible. Possible cause is a
partly calibrated unit.
Please return the unit for
repair.
0005 A calibration EEPROM was
not found. Cause is a
hardware fault.
Please return the unit for
repair.
0007 A save was not done in the
unit. Cause is a software fault.
Please return the unit for
repair.
0008 Selected measurement range
is invalid.
The parameter RANG is set
to 4-20 mA after acknowledge
with “E”.
