TheA2H254‐16provides8portsthatsupport100Mbpsmultimodefiber‐optic
connectivityusingthefixedfront‐panelMT‐RJports(evennumberedports2‐16).The
MT‐RJfixedfront‐panelportssupport100BASE‐FXfiber‐opticcabling.Thedeviceatthe
otherendofthefiber‐opticsegment
mustmeet100BASE‐FXFastEthernetnetwork
requirementsforthedevicestooperateat100Mbps.IEEE802.3u100BASE‐FX
characteristicsforMultimodeFiberisasegmentlengthof412meters(switchedport)in
halfduplex,2kilometers(switchedport)infullduplex.Thisdistancewillbeconsiderably
shorterfrom
arepeaterport.Makesuretocheckyournetworkdiameterspecifications.

Note: When using the fixed RJ45 ports on the SecureStack A2 for 100 Mbps operation
use Category 5 UTP cabling with an impedance between 85 and 111 ohms for 100 Mbps
operation.
