18. Manually open the Paper Bail, insert a stack of 4 sheets of 18# paper from the top of the printer, routing the
paper beneath the Paper Bail until the bottom edge of the paper is resting on the Paper Feed Rollers.
19. The Carriage Assembly should slide to print column 11 with only a small amount of resistance from the paper. If
there is no resistance felt, the APTC Detection Position is too far away from the paper. If great resistance is felt,
the APTC Detection Position is too close to the paper.
20. Using the Microfeed Up and Microfeed Down buttons, change the Platen Gap until the Carriage Assembly
encounters only a small amount of resistance from the paper.
21. Move the Carriage Assembly to the far left side of the printer.
22. Remove the paper from the printer.
23. Manually open the Paper Bail, insert a stack of 5 sheets of 18# paper from the top of the printer, routing the
paper beneath the Paper Bail until the bottom edge of the paper is resting on the Paper Feed Rollers.
24. The Carriage Assembly should not be able slide to print column 11 without exerting a fair amount of pressure. If
there is little or no resistance felt, the APTC Detection Position is too far away from the paper.
