Charging the Battery with a USB Connection
You can charge the battery from a battery charger or a computer with a USB connection.
e following shows the printer's charging specications.
Input for charging with a USB connection: DC 5 V (maximum 1.5 A)
Charging time:
USB Port (5 V/1.5A): Approx. 2.5 hours
USB Port (5 V/0.5 A): Approx. 10 hours
Battery capacity of current: 1860 mAh (3.6 V)
Follow the instructions below to charge the battery from a computer.
1. Make sure that the computer is on. If the computer is in hibernate or sleep mode, you cannot charge the
battery; if this happens, wake the computer.
2. Connect the printer to the computer using a micro USB cable.
Note:
You cannot charge the battery using a USB hub. Connect the printer directly to the computer.
3. If the printer is on, press the
P
button to turn it o.
Note:
If battery charging does not start, select Menu > Battery > Battery Settings on the control panel, enable USB Power
Supply via PC, and then try again.
You can charge the battery when the printer is in sleep mode even if you do not turn o the printer.
During charging, the computer recognizes the printer as a USB mass storage device.
e battery charging light turns on when the battery is charging, and turns o when charging is complete.
