Maintenance
Setneutral:
1.Removetheelectricalconnectionfromtheseat
safetyswitch,locateddirectlyinfrontoftheseat
switchassembly.
2.Theneutraladjustmentmustbemadewiththe
drivewheelsturning.Raisetheframeandplace
onjackstandssothatdrivewheelscanrotate
freely.Temporarilyinstallajumperwireacrossthe
terminalsintheconnectorofthewiringharness.
3.Starttheengine.
4.Runtheunitatleast5minuteswiththespeed
controlleveratfullforwardspeedtobring
hydraulicsystemoiluptooperatingtemperature.
Returnspeedcontrollevertoneutral(fullrear)
position.
5.Toobtaintheneutralposition,adjusttheleftand
rightpumpcontrolrodlinkagesthatconnectthe
steeringcontroltothepumpcontrolarmsuntil
thewheelsstop,orcreepslightlyinreverse.
6.Adjusttheleftpumplinkagebyrotatingthe
trackingadjustmentknob.
7.Adjusttherightpumplinkagebyusingawrench
toturnthedoublenutsontheassembly(see
Figure34)

8.Movethesteeringleverstothereverseposition.
Whileapplyingslightpressuretothelevers,allow
thesteeringleverstoreturntoneutral.Thewheels
muststopturning(orslightlycreepinreverse).
9.Stopengineandwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
Removejumperwirefromwireharnessconnector
andplugconnectorintoseatswitch.
10.Lowerfromjackstands.

PTODrivePulleyAlignment
PTOdrivepulleyalignmentisnecessaryforanyof
thefollowingconditions:
•Theblowerhasbeenremovedorreplaced.
•Theenginemountingboltshavebeenloosenedor
theenginehasbeenmovedorreplaced.
•Thejackshaftmountingboltshavebeenloosened
orthejackshafthasbeenmovedorreplaced.
1.Stopengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removekey.Engageparkingbrake.
2.Movethespeedcontrollevertotheneutral
position.
3.DisengagethePTOlever.
4.Removefueltankmountingnutsandswingout
fueltank.
5.Verifythattheblowerisinstalledandsecured
tightly.
6.Loosenthefourenginemountingbolts.
7.Unhookthepumpbelttensionspring.
8.Loosenthefourjackshaftmountingbolts.
9.Measuringfromtheblowerpulleyasabaseline,
movetheengineandjackshaftuntiltherear
surfaceofallthreepulleysarealignedwithin1/32
inchto1/16inch(0.8-1.6mm).Useastraight
edgetoalignallthreesurfaces(seeFigure35).
