Chargebatteriesinanopenwellventilatedarea,
awayfromsparkandames.Unplugchargerbefore
connectingordisconnectingfrombattery.Wear
protectiveclothinganduseinsulatedtools.
DANGER
Chargingorjumpstartingthebatterymay
produceexplosivegases.Batterygasescan
explodecausingseriousinjury.
•Keepsparks,ames,orcigarettesawayfrom
battery.
•Ventilatewhenchargingorusingbatteryin
anenclosedspace.
•Makesureventingpathofbatteryisalways
openoncebatteryislledwithacid.
•Alwaysshieldeyesandfacefrombattery.
DANGER
Batteryelectrolytecontainssulfuricacid,which
ispoisonousandcancausesevereburns.
Swallowingelectrolytecanbefatalorifittouches
skincancausesevereburns.
•Wearsafetyglassestoshieldeyes,andrubber
glovestoprotectskinandclothingwhen
handlingelectrolyte.
•DoNotswallowelectrolyte.
•Intheeventofanaccident,ushwithwater
andcalladoctorimmediately.
CAUTION
Iftheignitionisinthe“ON”positionthere
ispotentialforsparksandengagementof
components.Sparkscouldcauseanexplosionor
movingpartscouldaccidentallyengagecausing
personalinjury.
Besureignitionswitchisinthe“OFF”position
beforechargingthebattery.
Checkthevoltageofthebatterywithadigital
voltmeterorwiththemessagedisplayWhenthe
ignitionissettotheaccessorymode,themodulewill
displaythebatteryvoltage.Ifthevoltageislessthan
12.4volts,thebatterymayneedtobecharged.
Important:Inordertopreventdamagetothe
battery,useanautomatic12voltsmartcharger
approvedforusewithAGMtypebatterieswithan
outputof3.5ampsorless.Exmarkrecommends
theuseofbatterychargerP/N135-7024.Make
surethenegativebatterycableisdisconnected
beforechargingandthatthechargerissettothe
correctmodefor12VAGMbatteries.

1.Checktheweakbatteryforterminalcorrosion
(white,green,orblue“snow”),itmustbecleaned
offpriortojumpstarting.Cleanandtighten
connectionsasnecessary.
CAUTION
Corrosionorlooseconnectionscancause
unwantedelectricalvoltagespikesatanytime
duringthejumpstartingprocedure.
DoNotattempttojumpstartwithlooseor
corrodedbatteryterminalsordamagetothe
enginemayoccur.
DANGER
Jumpstartingaweakbatterythatiscracked,
frozen,haslowelectrolytelevel,oran
open/shortedbatterycell,cancausean
explosionresultinginseriouspersonalinjury.
DoNotjumpstartaweakbatteryifthese
conditionsexist.
