8 Making adjustments and preparations
8.1 Safety instructions
Before beginning any maintenance work on the ma-
chine, switch it off and secure it against accidentally
being switched on again.
Before commencing any work with the machine, in-
spect it to ensure that it is complete and in technically
good condition.
Ensure that there is sufficient space to work around
the machine.
Keep the work area orderly and clean. Components
and tools that are not put in their correct place or put
away may be the cause of accidents!
Install the safety equipment according to the instruc-
tions and check that it functions properly.
8.2 Adjusting the chip thickness

Note: The maximum chip thickness per work cycle is 5 mm.
The maximum depth of cut is directly related to the following factors:
Workpiece width
Type of wood (hardwood or softwood
Wood dampness
Feed rate
Cutterblock (2 or 4 Cutterblock Possibilities)
Cutterblock Possibilities (SS, HS, HW)
The motor power of your machine
The depth of cut is adjusted with the adjustment wheel on
the feeder-side of the planer table
Move the lever until the desired value has been achieved
on the scale

8.2.1 Adjusting the joint
Note: The machine is set by the manufacturer so as to produce an open joint of 0.2 to 0.5 mm with a workpi-
ece length of 2 m (Standard setting). The position of the in-feed planer table must be adjusted with regards to
the flight of the knife to achieve particular requirements (extremely splayed, open or straight joints): Contact
service technician

damage. For this reason, this work may only be carried out by authorised, trained personnel who are familiar
with how to operate the machine and in strict observance of all safety instructions.
