1.4 Notes on converting systems
When converting systems you should continue to use existing
drives wherever possible. Only drives with unilateral air con-
nections are usually available here and the cushioning path is
also used as the drive stroke.
In some cases, the positioning time specified in chapter 2
cannot be achieved.
The specified positioning times as well as optimum system
behaviour can only be achieved if the installation instructions
described in the previous section are obser ved.
Drives with unilateral compressed air supply
If you are using a drive with unilateral air supply, please ob-
serve the following:
When air is applied via connection 4 of the proportional
directional control valve, the slide must move in the direc-
tion of the measuring system zero point (electrical c on-
nection of the potentiometer). When air is applied via
connection 2, the slide must move away from the measur-
ing system zero point. The arrows on the drive co ver of
the DGP(L)-... indicate the direction of movement.
The resulting positioning times can vary depending on the
stroke direction.
