7. Assemble the moving knife to the
stationary assembly using screw (B).
8. Reattach the spring.
9. Assemble the tape and thread knife
assembly to the machine using the three
screws (A).
ADJUSTMENTS OF THE KNIFE
The thread and tape knife is designed so that
no adjustments have to be made. Periodically
check the fasteners to make sure they are
tight.
5.6 THREAD KNIFE
The thread knife is designed to cut the thread
chain as the needle and feed dog rise up
towards the throat plate. The trailing edge of
the throat plate is equipped with a slot where
the thread chain is cut. (Illustration 13, page

MAINTENANCE OF THE KNIFE
Keep the stationary and moving blades clean
and coated with a thin layer of oil. Check for
loose fasteners. The force between the blades
is set at the factory by using a spring, which
does not need adjustment.
REPLACING THE BLADES
When the blades become dull and need to be
replaced, the fibers of the thread will be cut to
different lengths, appearing that the thread
was torn rather than cleanly cut. To replace
the blades follow these steps:

AJUSTES A LA CUCHILLA

de manera que no necesita ajuste alguno.
Periódicamente revise los pernos para
asegurarse de que se encuentren
apretados.
5.6 Cuchilla de Hilo
La cuchilla de hilo está diseñada para
cortar la cadeneta de hilo cuando la aguja
y el alimentador dentado suben hacia la
placa de garganta. El lado trasero de la
placa está equipada con una ranura
donde la cadeneta de hilo es cortada.

MANTENIMIENTO DE LA CUCHILLA
Mantenga las cuchillas estacionaria y
móvil limpias y cubiertas con una capa
delgada de lubricante. Revise que no
hayan pernos sueltos. La fuerza entre las
cuchillas se pre-establece en fábrica
mediante el uso de un resorte, que no
necesita ajuste alguno.
REEMPLAZO DE LAS CUCHILLAS
Cuando las cuchillas pierden su filo y
necesitan ser cambiadas, las fibras del
hilo se cortan a diferentes largos, como si
el hilo estuviera trozado, en lugar de
mostrar un corte limpio. Para reemplazar
