5.5 TAPE AND THREAD KNIFE
KNIFE MAINTENANCE
The knife makes a clean cut through the tape
and thread. Keep a thin layer of lubricant on
the blades. This will help in cleaning and
keeping the blades sharp. If the knife
becomes dull replace the blades.
REPLACING THE BLADES
The thread and tape knife assembly consists of
the stationary and moving knife. If they
become dull and need to be replaced, take the
following steps:
1. Unplug the machine and place it on a
work surface.
2. Remove the three screws (A) and
remove the knife assembly from the
machine. (Illustration 28)
3. Remove the spring and screw (B).
4. Remove the spring post (C) and the two
screws (D). Remove the stationary
blade.
5. Assemble the stationary blade in place
using screws (C) and (D).
6. Apply a thin
layer of
lubricant to the
blades.
5.5 Cuchilla de Hilo y Cinta
MANTENIMIENTO DE CUCHILLA
La cuchilla hace un corte limpio de la
cinta y el hilo. Mantenga lubricada las
cuchillas. Esto ayudará a su limpieza y a
mantenerlas afiladas. Si se les acaba el
filo, reemplace las cuchillas.
REEMPLAZANDO LAS CUCHILLAS
El conjunto de corte de cinta e hilo
consiste en una cuchilla estacionaria y
una móvil. Si éstas pierden el filo y
necesitan ser cambiadas siga los
siguientes pasos.
1 Desconecte la máquina y colóquela en
una superficie de trabajo.
2. Retire los tres tornillos (A) y remueuva
el conjunto de cuchilla de la máquina
(Ilustración 28)
3. Retire el resorte y el tornillo (B).
4. Retire el poste del resorte (C) y los
dos tornillos (D). Retire la cuchilla
estacionaria.
5. Coloque la cuchilla estacionaria nueva
en su lugar con los tornillos (C) y (D).
6. Aplíquele una capa delgada de
lubricante a las
cuchillas.
