4.3 Preparation for Shipment and Storage
It is recommended that when the SGA must be returned for repair, it
should be shipped in the reusable-shipping container provided with the
equipment. Before powering down, engage the SGA into the locked
position. All other components can be packaged utilizing ample
quantities of shock-absorbent packing material, to prevent damage to the
equipment during shipment and may be shipped via commercial
standards. Cables should be packaged separately in a suitable transport
container able to accommodate the weight of the cable. When returning
the equipment to a FLIR repair facility, a Return Material Authorization
(RMA) should be obtained from FLIR, with an explanation of the reason
or conditions prompting the return shall be included in the shipping case.
