Resistance Checks
When verifying the resistance function, each of the resistance modes (Normal, Tru,
LoI and HiV) must be individually checked. The following procedure assumes use of
a multifunction calibrator and verifies each resistance mode in turn, range by range. If
individual standard resistors are used it may be more convenient to check all the modes in
turn for each resistance value to avoid connecting the same resistance standard several
times during the sequence. A 1 G standard resistor is used for ranges above 200 M as
the highest resistance available from the 5720A calibrator is 100 M.
In order to minimize connection changes it is recommended that all measurements using
the 1 G Standard resistor are performed together after all other resistance points.
