S
witching on and o
You can switch the Eco Coach on and o in
the Assist systems menu of the Infotain-
ment system.
Eco Coach will be automatically deactiva-
ted temporarily in the following cases:
— When driving with Adaptive Cruise Con-
trol.
— When driving with Cruise Control.
However, Eco Coach displays may still
be shown, depending on the situation
and driving behaviour.
When the reason for deactivation is no lon-
ger present, the Eco Coach is reactivated,
provided it is switched on in the Infotain-
ment system.
WARNING
Eco Coach is not a substitute for the full
a
ttention of the driver and operates only
within the limits of the system. Eco Coach
cannot detect all driving situations and
may not react or may react with a delay or
in an undesired way. If you do not pay due
attention, there is a risk of accidents and
serious injuries or even death.
·
Always pay due attention and do not
rely exclusively on the system. The driv-
er is always responsible for all driving
tasks.
·
Always adapt your speed and driving
style to the current visibility, weather
and road or trac conditions.
·
P
lease note that trac signs on the
road and trac regulations always have
priority over driving recommendations.
Adaptive Cruise Control
Introduction
Adaptive Cruise Control maintains
a speed that you have set. If the vehicle
approaches a vehicle in front, Adaptive
Cruise Control automatically adapts
the speed so that a distance you have
selected is maintained.
Is the vehicle equipped with Adaptive
Cruise Control?
If you can use the on the le side of the
multifunc
tion steering wheel to select
Adaptive Cruise Control, the vehicle is
equipped with this function.
Speed range
You can set a speed between 20 km/h
(15 mph) and 210 km/h (130 mph). This
speed range may dier in certain countries.
Driving with Adaptive Cruise Control
You can override Adaptive Cruise Control at
any time. Control will be cancelled if you
brake. If you accelerate, the system will be
interrupted for the duration of the accelera-
tion process and will then resume with the
set speed.
Control by the Adaptive Cruise Control sys-
tem is less dynamic when towing a trailer.
Driver intervention prompt
If the automatic deceleration by
Adaptive Cruise Control is not su-
cient or the system limits are
reached, the Adaptive Cruise Control
system will display a message on the
instrument cluster requesting you to
brake additionally. In addition, the red
warning lamp lights up and an acous-
tic warning is given. Take control of
the vehicle and be prepared to apply
the brakes!
