18 STARTING THE MACHINE
18.1 Power on
If the machine is restarted within 10 minutes of its last shutdown, Airpad production will begin immediately (a
few seconds may be required if the program is changed, in order for the heat-seal units to come to
temperature). The machine stays heat-controlled during the production of air pillows. At shutdown, the
temperature of the heat-seal units remains constant for a set amount of time before entering energy-saving
mode. These parameters may be set by Technical Assistance.
The machine may only be started in automatic mode.
18.2 Shutdown
The machine may be turned off in two ways:
FUNCTION KEY - Activates a specific function, in combination with a number.
COUNTER KEY - press this key to view the total number of hours worked, the number of
air pillow produced and the number of meters of film used on the display.
ESC KEY - press this key to leave the current program and return to the main menu
without saving any data.
NUMERICAL KEYPAD - used also as arrows.
Turn on the machine
When turned on, the machine starts in energy-
saving mode.
Press the button
The machine starts with the set program and
parameters. During machine pre-heating,
flashing arrows indicate that the heat-seal bars
are being heated.
Press the button
To end the active cycle.
The machine will finish the cycle before shutting down.
The heat-seal units will remain set to their current values.
Turn off the machine
In the event of an emergency, the machine may be shut down via the switch (also
used for emergencies). The machine will stop immediately, and all parts will be
disconnected from the power source.
