10 PACKAGING
The machine is generally shipped in a cardboard box. The package is secured to a wooden platform and blocks
that form a pallet.
Package contents are covered:
- with a barrier bag in low-density polyethylene (LPDE), which is heat-sealed for sea transport;
- with a nylon sheet affixed to the pallet, for all other types of transportation.
In accordance with UNI 9151/3, the packaging contains enough silica gel desiccant to keep moisture levels
below 35% during the estimated transport time (unless otherwise agreed).
Note: Packaging is not stackable!
Transporting and moving the packaged machine
Note: Ensure that the equipment used to move the machine is able to sustain the weight
indicated on the crate.
Lifting or moving the crate using straps or chains must be performed as shown in Figure A, using the triangles
marked on the packaging.
When moving the create using a fork-lift truck, the forks must be inserted at the triangles marked on the
packaging, as shown in Figure B.
11 UNPACKING
UNPACKING AND INSPECTION UPON RECEIPT
Upon receipt, inspect the packaging to ensure that it has not been damaged or tampered with.
THE TRANSPORTER AND MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE NOTIFIED OF ANY DAMAGE TO THE
MACHINE NOTED UPON RECEIPT.
Opening the packaging:
- Open the cover of the box first, followed by the sides.
- Remove the desiccant.
- Make sure that no small machine parts remain in the box.
- Perform a detailed inspection of the general condition of the machine.
Packaging removal operations
Remove any mounts used to secure the machine to the platform, and remove the machine as described below.
