Changing the Firewall Settings Before Installing Your Printer
If the installation of printer software is blocked by the Windows firewall, change the firewall settings
before installation.
NOTE:
• For Windows XP, Service Pack 2 or 3 must be installed.
The following procedure uses Windows 7 as an example.

Insert the Software Pack CD-ROM into your computer.

Click start
→
Control Panel.

Click System and Security.

Click Windows Firewall.

Click Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall.

Click Change settings.

Click Allow another program.

Click Browse.

Click D:\setup.exe (where D is the drive letter of the optical drive) in the File name text box, and
then click Open.

Click Add.

Click OK.
