Optional installation kit
Replacing the installation kit
• Requirements:
There are not any hard disk drives installed in the drive bays.
Otherwise you must first remove the hard disk drives.
• The casing is open (see "
Opening the casing", Page 34).
If you wish to use an installation kit for your hard disks which is other than that which
was installed in your device in the factory, proceed as follow s:
► If any hard disk drives are already installed, remove them (see "
Removing a hard disk", Page 56).
► If necessary, disconne ct the drive cables from the installation kit:
Press the catch to unlock it and press the cable retainer ba ckwards out of the opening.
► U ndo the screws on the old installation kit.
► R emove the installation kit from the casing.
► Position the new installation kit at the bay.
► Fasten the new installation kit with the screws.
► Secure the drive cables on the installation kit again.
► If required, connect further drive cables with sufficient drive connectors to
the installation kit and the mainboard.
When connecting the cables, note the numbering on the installation kit and on the cables.
