Overview
... is available in v arious configurations that differ in terms of hardware and software. You can
incorporate accessible drives (for example a DVD drive) as well as other modules.
This manual tells y ou how to start using your device an d how to operate it in daily use. This manual
applies for all configuration levels. Depending on the chosen con figu ration level, some of the
hardware components described may not be available on your PC. The illustrations shown below
may differ slightly from your actual model. Please also read the notes about your operating system.
Depending on the configuration selected, the operating system is preinsta lled
on your hard disk (e.g. Window s 7 ).
Your device has a number of security features to ensure that no unauthorised persons can access
your data. The s ecurity functions in the BIOS Setup also allow you to protect your data by means of
passwords. In addition, systems with a SmartCard reader offer additional protection.
DeskUpdate allows you under some operating systems to easily and quickly install the latest
drivers and opera ting system extensions with a few mouse clicks.
