Replacement of non-hot-plug components CSS components
8.2 Replacement of non-hot-plug components
When a defective non-hot-plug component is detected (for more information,
see chapter "Starting up and operation" on page 55 and the "Customer Self
Service (CSS)" manual on the ServerView Suite DVD 2), proceed as follows:
Ê Exit all applications and shut down the server properly (see section
"Switching the server on and off" on page 65).
Ê Pull all power plugs out of the insulated sockets of the rack's internal power
supply.
Ê Remove the server from the rack (see section "Installing/removing the server
in/from the rack" on page 39) and put the server on a table, for example.
8.2.1 Opening the server
You must remove the fan cover before removing the housing cover:

Ê Push the two green buttons (1) in the direction of the arrow and lift the fan
cover up and off.
