■ [General Options] tab
You can select general options for using ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap.
On this tab, specify "Recognition languages" for conversion to Word/Excel/
PowerPoint file format and whether to "Delete scanned images after
recognition," and read information about ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap,
and register your ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap.
Recognition languages
Languages used for text recognition can be selected. In ABBYY FineReader for
ScanSnap, text in multiple languages (for example, English and French) can be
recognized.
Drag the vertical scroll bar and mark languages you want to use.
"Delete scanned images after recognition" checkbox
If marked, images scanned with the ScanSnap (in PDF format) are deleted after
documents are converted into Word/Excel/PowerPoint file format.
ATTENTION
If you select Japanese as the recognition language, other languages cannot be
selected.
HINT
• When documents are scanned with the ScanSnap, scanned images are
created in PDF format. ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap recognizes the
scanned images in PDF format and convert into Word/Excel/PowerPoint file
format.
If you want to keep scanned images in PDF format before recognition, clear
this checkbox.
• Depending on qualities and settings, scanned images may be misrecognized.
It is recommended that this checkbox be cleared unless otherwise needed.
