RS-232C CONNECTION
Data Transmission Procedures and Data Composition
Data is transmitted immediately following the end of the EXH (exhaust) sequence.
Test condition configuration and readouts are only available while in the RDY state.
1) Receive settings from an external source.
(1) Make sure that the air leak tester is in the RDY state.
The RDY state can be confirmed by observing the RDY signal from the REMOTE.
No communications can take place outside the ready state. Any input signals will be
ignored.
(2) The following settings are transmitted:

The process time data is expressed without a decimal point (in units of 0.1sec). The 8 byte data
output is right-aligned, and 20h represents blank digits.
Example: 12.3 sec; □□□□123. 1.0sec; □□□□□□10 (where a represents 20h)
The settings data is also expressed without a decimal point. If you have an NG error, a (-) will
precede the value.
Example: If you get an –NG error on the FL-286, -1.00kPa; □□□□-100 (It is assumed that the 2
digits beyond the decimal point are fixed on the FL-286).
Your input data should be within the machine’s possible setting range. If you attempt to send data
outside of the range, all data is destroyed.
If CHG1 is not specified, the CHG1 process time is assumed to be 0sec and the data length does not
change.
(3) The air leak tester saves transmitted data.
The data is written into an EEPROM and saved.
The possible data transmission time depends on the number of times the EEPROM can be
rewritten, therefore transmission data cannot be saved after one million transmissions.
If you get a P.NG error, there are two possible values: +0 and -0. “+0” is written as “0” and “-0” is
written as “-0”.
The –NG (leak amount) and test data units used on the leak amount display unit is as follows.
