Troubleshooting
MPS GEN ADDED There is an additional generator
connected to the MPS that is not
accounted for. Verify the MPS
configuration is correct or remove
a generator from the
system.
The MPS was configured
with a set number of
generators, and the Main
Controller is seeing
communication from more
than the configured
amount.
Remove the extra
generator or fix the MPS
configuration. The
warning will clear once
the communications
issue is resolved.
PLC GEN
DISABLED
The generator has been disabled
by a PLC program.
A PLC program has
overridden the generator
and shut it off.
This warning will clear
automatically when the
PLC program is no
longer disabling the
generator.
CURRENT
PROTECTION
The output current of the
generator has exceeded the I
2
T
algorithm limits. There is likely
one or more alternator phases
shorted.
The I
2
T algorithm threshold
for over current protection
was exceeded.
Turn keyswitch to OFF.
Verify no line faults are
present. Clear the alarm
using the Display.
OVER CURRENT
PROTECTION
The output current of the
generator has limited to 300%
rated current for ten consecutive
seconds. There is likely one or
more alternator phases shorted.
300% rated current was
maintained for ten seconds.
Turn keyswitch to OFF.
Verify no line faults are
present. Clear the alarm
using the Display.
ENGINE STALLED The engine speed sensor
indicates the speed dropped
below 400 RPM when it was
expected to be above 1,200
RPM. This is often due to loss of
fuel or an engine speed sensor
fault. When this alarm occurs, the
Main Controller will shut down
and attempt to restart the engine.
The engine speed sensor
indicates the speed
dropped below 400 RPM
when it was expected to be
above 1,200 RPM.
This warning is cleared
every time the generator
is restarted.
STARTER NOT
ENGAGED
The starter was commanded to
engage, but the battery voltage
readings indicate the starter did
not actually engage. This is likely
due to the starter not interlocking
with the ring gear, the starter
solenoid failing, the starter
contactor failing, or the starter
relay failing.
The battery voltage did not
dip the expected amount
during cranking that would
signify the starter engaging.
The alarm will clear
automatically after it has
been acknowledged
using the Display.
BOSCH
THROTTLE STUCK
The Bosch throttle plate is not
moving to the commanded
position while powered or it is not
resting at the commanded
position while not powered. This
is likely due to the throttle being
jammed, the throttle motor
becoming weak, the actuator
driver module failing, or the
throttle sensor failing.
The following conditions
will set the fault:
Throttle more than 12%
open when off.
Throttle more than 14%
away from the target
and not moving quickly
enough toward the
target.
Turn the keyswitch OFF.
Verify the throttle is not
stuck and the Main
Controller is indicating
the correct throttle
position. Clear the alarm
using the Display.
