Troubleshooting
J1939 FPT
ENGINE
OVERSPEED
The Fiat Power Train (FPT) ECU
module detected the engine
exceeded its overspeed
threshold.
The FPT ECU sets this
alarm based on its internal
limits.
This alarm automatically
clears when the ECU
stops setting it and it has
been acknowledged
using the Display.
J1939 FPT
ENGINE
OVERTEMP W
The FPT ECU module detected
the engine coolant temperature
exceeded the limit to trigger a
warning.
The FPT ECU sets this
warning based on its
internal limits.
This alarm automatically
clears when the FPT
ECU stops setting it.
J1939 FPT

OVERTEMP A
The FPT ECU module detected
the engine coolant temperature

alarm.

limits.
This warning
automatically clears
when the FPT ECU
stops setting it.
J1939 VOLVO
ACTIVE ECU
STOP LIGHT
This warning is the same as
“J1939 ACTIVE ECU STOP
LIGHT” above except it is a
warning for the Volvo ECUs.
Since the Volvo ECU uses the
CAN bus as its secondary bus, it
can prematurely transmit a
shutdown fault indication before it
has finalized its determination to
shut down. This can result in a
nuisance shutting down of the
generator. Therefore, on Volvo
powered generators, this warning
indicates a pending shutdown
condition.
This warning is set when
the Main Controller
receives a message from
the Volvo ECU indicating
the ECU Stop Light should
be illuminated. If the engine
shuts down with this
warning set, the “J1939
ACTIVE ECU STOP
LIGHT” shutdown alarm will
set.
This alarm automatically
clears when the Volvo
ECU stops setting it.
