Convenience features
• Faces of similar appearance (such
as twins) may be recognized by Face
Connect and lock or unlock the door.
•
If you cannot lock or unlock the
vehicle door due to malfunction of the
face recognition camera or controller,
we recommend that you have your
vehicle be checked by an authorized
retailer of Genesis Branded products.
•
When you have your vehicle serviced
due to failures of the Face Connect
system or related parts, all registered
faces may be deleted during the
repair. Carry two smart keys to
your visit and re-register your face
immediately after your vehicle is
repaired.
•
You cannot use the Face Connect
system when the vehicle is
discharged.
•
If the face entry check box in
infotainment system is unchecked,
face connect system is deactivated.
It is activated automatically when the
face is registered.
•
If you have left your smart key or
digital key in your vehicle and locked
the vehicle door with Face Connect,
keep the smart key out of sight to
prevent theft.
WARNING
Do not register a child’s face on the
vehicle as unexpected accidents may
occur.
When Purchasing a Used Vehicle
If you purchase a used vehicle, you
should confirm and delete all registered
face in Driver 1 and Driver 2 profile.
If a face is registered, the message
“Biometric authentication active”
appears on the instrument cluster once
when the vehicle is turned on while the
doors are unlocked.
Legal Compliance
This system uses facial recognition and
authentication which may be considered
"biometrics" under law. Use of this
system consents to the collection,
use, and storage of your data for the
disclosed activities. (By setting your
Facial Recognition Profile, you consent to
using facial recognition for locking and
unlocking the vehicle.)
We will only use
or share your data as needed for system
use, maintenance, and s
torage. Stored
data cannot be converted into your
facial image.
You may delete your facial
recognition data at any time.
